Item No.32 - RE.1886 Rocker Pedestal (Centre). HPS. {Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} agreed to Jnr {Charles L. Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} emphasised that oil holes to the valve end cannot be deleted owing to complaints of squeaking operation. Item No.34 - RE.1676 Crankshaft Pulley. Jnr. {Charles L. Jenner} has agreed to delete the two diametrically opposed keyways and substitute one woodruff key to increased size. The material of the Pulley is to be amended from S/M. to Malleable Iron. Item No.35 - RE.1927 Inlet Valve Guide. It has been agreed to amend the detail drawing to parallel fitting instead of one in 48 taper. Item No.36 - RE.1931 Rocker Pedestal Stud. As the waisted stem serves as an oil way, HPS. {Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} agreed to accept the detail drawing. Item No.37 - RE.1890 Valve Spring Washer (Bottom). This was not discussed but we have asked for this washer to be deleted in view of the fact the valve spring is to bed on a cast iron cylinder head. Item No.38 - RE.1893 Rocker Shaft Distance Piece. This was not discussed but we have asked for even gauge material and standard diameter. Jnr. {Charles L. Jenner} is to give this his consideration. continued | ||
