Further to our memo Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Swdl. {Len H. Swindell} 2/AP.5.3.38 regarding the fitting of Vandervell bearings, we now have their arrangement drawing L.1076 which will enable you to proceed with a crankcase and bearing caps for the job. You will note that the rear bearing housing of the crankcase is thicker than normal 1.933 +2 against the normal dimension 1.775. Other than the above special bearing the crankcase should be up to date and include the official deletion of the cam balancer to ECD.478. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Swdl. {Len H.
