| Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /EAG.5/ET. 23rd December 1940. Messrs. Wilmot-Breeden Ltd., Eastern Works, Camden Street, BIRMINGHAM. Attention of Mr. Spicer. Dear Mr. Spicer, LOCKS. Thank you for the drawings of the locks received this morning. I should think that the method of springing will be a great improvement over the sample lock which we have. I note your remarks regarding modifications and re-inforcing strips at the back of the Shut-Face. As soon as we have had an opportunity to go further into the matter, we will let you know what is required, so that you will possibly then be able to have a sample made up for us. PETROL FILLER LID. {A. J. Lidsey} Regarding the petrol filler cover lock, we will also let you have a sketch of this as soon as possible. GLASS CHANNELLING. We are enclosing herewith a section of the stainless steel glass channelling which, you will see an attempt has been made to bend. The result is much better than our first attempt and it appears to us that, if the beaded edges were loaded with wire, it might be possible to make a job of the bending operation. This method of course only applies to small radii. Bending the channelling to follow a slow curve would of course require different treatment. We should be obliged if you would give the matter your consideration and let us know if you think you could make a satisfactory job on the lines suggested. Yours sincerely, | ||
