OVERHEATING AND WATER BOILING TROUBLE. With reference to EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 4/H9.2.25. Our results do not confirm that there is any increase in the amount of heat given to the water with an exhaust pipe as fitted to 4-wheel brake cars. If this was the case, we should anticipate considerable difference between cutout open and cutout closed, whereas, no improvement has ever been found when running with a free exhaust. We suggest, as it is at present mid-summer in Australia, that it is the atmospheric temperature which is high. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
