WRAITH II

Rear Brake Intermediate Levers.

We send herewith N.Sch:-4852 showing the above.

The brackets for the shaft are welded to the frame and it is not expected that they can sufficiently accurately placed to permit the holes to be jig drilled.

The suggestion is that the outside bracket is drilled to suit the bracket, and the inside bracket is drilled to correspond. The avriation of the position of the idler lever shaft thus introduced will not be of importance.

Packing washers accommodate the variation of width between the brackets. They also allow the idler lever unit to be centralised with the road spring.

Floating oilite bushes of standard size are used.

Felt rings are used to protect the oilite bushes and help retain the oil.

This shaft is forward of the rear wing and above the running board level and should not, we think, be e xposed to mud and water.

The levers and shaft can be in mild steel as the stresses are low and dimensions are determined more by stiffness than strength.
