(struck through) c.Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /EM12/J.22.6.34. S.U. Carburetters and Petrol Pumps. The Experimental Dept. have complained in regard to the corrosion which occurs in the float chambers for the S.U. Carburetters and also in the petrol pump castings and they are insisting that H's corrosion resisting treatment shall be applied to these parts in future. We have been in touch with S.U. in order to press them to obtain the necessary apparatus to give this treatment at their end, but until such times as their plant is ready, it is suggested that each time their lorry calls at these Works they should bring with them such supplies of float chamber and petrol pump castings as they have available for us to apply the necessary treatment and they will take the castings back with them the next time they call. Will G {Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} /Mt. therefore kindly arrange when such castings are received at these Works to send same over to Mr.Smithdale for treatment and see that they are returned by the next lorry which calls.
