| 1/35 Experimental Dept. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std.12/MH. {M. Huckerby} 29th. June 1938. Messrs. Ferodo Ltd., CHAPEL-EN-LE-FRITH. For the attention of Mr.Sutcliffe. Dear Sirs, We send you herewith prints of our belt drawings EB.3927 and EB.3948 which we are proposing to use on the new engine which we are building. These belts are identical with British Goodrich standard belts, moulds number 288 and 352 respectively. We do not think we wish to incur the cost of new moulds for these belts immediately until we have done some running with the scheme in question, but as Mr.Holmes gave the writer to understand that you were intending to make moulds to replace all belts at present on the market we would like to know whether you could be prepared to make moulds for the above belts at your expense. Further, we would like to know what the cost of such moulds would be. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
