| Y3700 Expl: Dept: Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 2/LG. 9th. June 1927. Messrs. Zenith Carburetter Co., 40-42 Newman Street, London W.1. C to Bey Dear Sirs, With reference to your letter of the 8th.inst. We note that you propose to make the top of the filter in duralumin and fit 70 discs instead of 60 in the filter element. The only objection we have to this is that it reduces the capacity of the sump in which dirt can collect beneath the filter. It appears to us that the strap holding the glass connection on, and also the knurled nut at the base of the strap could have been very considerably lightened without impairing their efficiency. When you have done all that you feel you can to the filter to meet our requirements, we should be obliged if you could let us have two samples so that we might test them before placing bulk orders, as it is essential that we should see how the threads stand up in duralumin etc. Our standard diameter inlet and outlet pipe for the 20 HP. is .250" dia. - for the 40/50 HP. .312". and we should like unions to be fitted to suit these pipes. Yours faithfully, | ||
