| 200B. 427 Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 2/R. 3rd February, 1938. N.H. Manning, Esq., Briggs Motor Bodies Ltd., Chequers Lane, DAGENHAM. Dear Manning, Its a long time since I heard from you - are you still going strong ? We are sending you almost immediately the final drawings of the new frame which we have been discussing with you for some time past. We are now on the point of going into production and are about to place further orders for these frames. We should, therefore, be glad if you could bear this in mind when submitting your quotations. We believe that you are making some allowance in your estimates for extraordinary external frame finish and limits which are not generally considered to be a commercial proposition. If, before you submit your final quotation you, or one of your representatives, could come up here we could show you samples of the frame which have been obtained from other people, and talk over the questions of finish and limits. I believe it would be to our mutual advantage. Your tool costs are considerably higher than those of other people, for which there may be excellent reasons. I expect to be away from the Works for a short time. I shall be back by the 17th, or thereabouts. Yours sincerely, | ||
