Wraith II Brakes.

We send herewith N.Sch.4897 showing stops on the servo cam levers which we think are necessary to provide against wear or wrong adjustment of the servo allowing the pedal to come too close to the floorboard, with the result that a failure of the rear brake compensator will allow the pedal to drop to the board in spite of the provision of a stop at the compensator. There would then be no brakes whatever.

With the stops shown by this scheme the relative movement between the servo cam levers is limited. When the servo has worn as much as it is safe for it to wear the stops come into action and cut out the servo leaving the direct braking and the hand brake.

We have made a liberal provision for wear of the servo, and unless this is upset by the use of a faster wearing fabric there should not be any need to adjust the servo during the life of the main brake linings.

N.Sch.4897 herewith.
