Re Continental over-size Tyres. X.917

23-1-14.

We return herewith complaint sheets re Mrs Cohen- Chassis 1992 - and in reply to your query "Could not rims be altered to take over-size Continental" we wish to explain that over-size tyres could be fitted without any alteration to the existing rims, that is to say, 150 m {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} /m tyre fits 135 m {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} /m rim, and thus they claim you obtain the advantage of a stronger and larger tyre than the standard size for the same rim.

We have not as yet given these tyres a sufficiently extensive trial to be able to state with certainty any opinion as to their durability, but from our limited experience we think we might safely advise this customer to make a trial of them as it is for such heavy work that the makers claim they have produced these tyres.

advise this course explaining that the responsibility for success must rest with the makers of the tyre.
