WRAITH BRAKES. -606

Further to our Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /AFM. {Anthony F. Martindale} G/AP.6.1.38 in which we explained the need for a sheet metal guard to protect the idler levers GW.930 which operate the front brakes, the guards we made have run some distance since fitting and although most of the front of the car, including the brake adjustment mechanism, has become coated with mud, the guards have adequately protected the 3 pin joints which are still coated with the white grease used in assembly.

We think such guards should be put on production as early as possible. They are inexpensive and are fixed on existing bolts. It would probably be worth while to add them to any cars built without them, so as to prevent seizures.
