24th. June 1938.

Mr.A.R.Milton,
117, Osborne Road,
Romford,
ESSEX.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to your letter of the 19th. inst. we have tested your adaptors out, on an engine which was known to have leaky plugs. No advantage was apparent.

We agree that an auxiliary gap in the sparking plug circuit is an advantage in the case of leaky plugs, however, we already have such a gap in our distributor head, and in our opinion no advantage is to be gained by the use of an additional gap where "jump spark" distributors are used. We are therefore returning to you under separate cover six of the seven adaptors which you sent for our test, the other having been damaged during our investigation.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
