We thank you for your SR/EWP. {Mr Punt} 31/MLG.24.10.34. re Chassis B.49 BL and your SR/EWP. {Mr Punt} 30/MLG.24.10.34. re Chassis B.116-BL-Hauvette. We have had a few cases just recently of wings cracking where they are joined to the running board, and we have now decided to adopt the following system of mounting. The wing and running board are in no way connected to each other. The coachbuilder fits a bracket from the chassis frame to carry the tail of the wing, and another bracket from the chassis frame to carry the front end of the step board. This latter bracket will be fitted to the chassis as standard in a short while. It will be necessary for you to see that your coachbuilders drill the chassis for these brackets in a suitable manner. As soon as we have a little more data concerning steel wings we shall most probably recommend that all Bentley cars for use on the Continent, or cars for England which are likely to be used extensively abroad to have steel front wings.
