40/50 HP. Chassis belonging to Mr. W.E.Emmott.

I tried this car this morning with the owner and he is leaving it here for about a week for the following complaints to be attended to -

(1) Exhaust boom at speeds up to 30 m.p.h; This can best be heard by running the engine up with the car stationary.
(2) "Luffing" of the carburetter. I understand Cricklewood recently weakened this to decrease the petrol consumption from 6 to 8 m.p.g.
(3) Occasional growl, possibly from the rear axle, when cornering at low speeds.
(4) Mixture control turns itself towards the rich position.
(5) Trouble with offside rear wheel, owing to the fact that when it is tightened up not to "clonk", the locking ring cannot be got into the correct position.
(6) Pitching at low speeds, for which we suggest that the present Continental front springs should be altered to normal rating.
(7) Noise emanating from the fan, the adjustment of which is said to get slack in a very few miles.

Mr. Emmott would also like the engine de-coked, and he will write to you confirming this.
