Water Excluders.

With reference to the discontinuation of the screen to avoid the steering arm, we find that if there is any gap here, however small, it is possible to get water to enter the drum through this gap. It does not appear to get in here if the car is washed normally, however thoroughly.

We have noticed that in your scheme for production you have left quite a large gap here, so that production shall experience no difficulty whatever in fitting. We think it is inadvisable from our point of view to have this large gap, and ask that you close it up as much as possible.
