| c. to Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Ev. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} 1/JH.5.2.41. 3 re Enlarged Face Shield Type BD. {Mr Berend} Gun. With reference to the reply from Lt. R.F. Young concerning the increase in size of the face shield for the above gun and of which reply we have received a copy, we do not understand why a figure of 1/2 sq.ft. increase in area is mentioned if the out of balance after filling the armrest with lead is equivalent to 16 lbs. weight at the armrest, but as already stated(Ev. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} 3/JH.31.1.41) we estimate this out of balance to represent 23.8 lbs. weight at the face shield or approximately an increase in area of 170 sq.in. i.e. 1.18 sq/ft.
