PEREGRINE(Experimental Bentley car never produced / Aero Engine) STARTER MOTOR. We find upon calculation that it should be possible to make a sequence starter motor sufficiently powerful for the Peregrine(Experimental Bentley car never produced / Aero Engine) and Pensport, having an outside carcase diameter of only 3.750". We have assumed a maximum starting torque of 300 lb.inches which upon comparison with the actual measured starting torque of the J.3. engine should be proportionally correct in accordance with the capacity ratio and the same compression ratio figures. Engine speed we have taken as 60 R.P.M. and a gear ratio of 11 to 1. Attached please find copy of our calculations for your reference. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Wst. Attachment. | ||
