Lidsey} 1/A.16.1.32.cont'd 1-D.50837/8 Jaw spanner, distributor contacts. 1-E.6422 C. spanner, steering col: thrust race. 1-D.50912 3" dead smooth file and handle. 1-E.75871/2 Valve grinding tool. 1-E.75553 Spanner for magneto drive to nut. Lucas No.40 oiler, replace by Kays oil can. Enots grease gun, replace by Enots Autolub No.5A. The saving per car effected by these economies amounts to :- £1. 1. 7½d. {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} (2) Future Economies. We suggest that future economies can be effected by the following which involve using different types of spanners, and slightly altering the design of certain parts in order that expensive special tools may be deleted or in order that one spanner may do the work for which at present two or three are required. (a) Spares. We know of no future economies possible over and above those recommended as immediate. (b) Tools. I By alteration in design of chassis. G.73540 Back axle drain plug spanner. See remarks under this heading as applied to 20/25 car, the same apply except that the drain plug, and overflow plug should be made to suit a ¾" box spanner. Saving 3/6½d. {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} E.6258. Radiator water connections nut. The same remarks apply as in the case of E.55017 on the 20/25 HP car. Saving :- 1/5½d. {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} F.70319. Battery terminal box spanner. This is a special double ended box spanner one end of which is used solely for battery terminals, by getting the battery manufacturers to alter the dimensions of the terminal nuts to suit ½" box spanner the necessity for this disappears. The other end of this spanner ¾" is used for the rear axle drain plug this is not needed when the alteration previously suggested for this part is carried out. saving :- 6½d. {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} F.9814 Box spanner. Used for engine and gear box drain plugs. All drain and filler plugs it is suggested should be made suitable for a โ " box spanner, which size is necessary for dismantling hubs. (This spanner would be โ " x 1" box spanner.) Saving :- 7½d. {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} E.78789..156" dia tommy bar. This is used solely for tightening up the water pump gland nut; we suggest it would not be a very difficult matter to alter the design of this part so that the 3/16" dia tommy bar E.7342 (which is necessary for the small box spanner.) can be used. Saving :- -d. {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} | ||
