The question of the material for fixing the shoes of the Rear Brakes is so important that we cannot afford to take the slightest risks by the adoption of a material in this particular position until Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has made the most exhaustive experiments. Change of material here will demand a standard-isation sheet, and conditions are such that Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} will have to be extremely careful to cover the whole subject before making any decision in regard to changing quality or source of our material. In writing the foregoing I am not wishing to prevent development, but merely wish to emphasize that where we are doing well it is necessary for us to be extremely careful before we make a move.
