J.3. Gearbox in Vulture(Experimental 6 CYL OHV LONG STROKE / Aero Engine).

Will you kindly instruct S.M. clutch cones for the top, 3rd and 2nd gears of this box with 8° angle of cone instead of 10° and with the screw thread and longitudinal slots shown on N. Sch.3994.

The object of this modification is to overcome crashing of the teeth by providing more locking force at the cam relative to the end thrust applied.

As the box is now, with 10° cones, the top and 3rd gears have 5% less locking effect than is obtained on the 20/25 due to the larger radius at which the cams work on the J.3. box.

The 2nd speed clutch cones should be in other respects as shewn by N. Sch.3997.
