Isolated Change Gear Lever.

With reference to Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /GWH. {George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} /1/MW/4/16.3.37 the shoulder was provided to prevent the ball cage from working out of place. This was thought to be the cause of the lateral binding described in Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /FJH. {Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} 3/JH. 10.7.36.

The shoulder is shown on N.Sch.4900 and according to this scheme it should not foul the washer. We will examine the details and instruct modifications if necessary.

We should like to know the reason why a drain hole in the casting is necessary.
