During the running of 35-EX. in France, tests were carried out to determine the least amount of flexibility required in the rear side steering tube joint to give freedom from joggles with the following results - Rating of Springs. Travel Each way Results. 2600 lbs/in. 0.110 No joggles on straight roads. Joggles when cornering. 2800 lbs/in. 0.230 No joggles at any time but extra sponge noticeable. 5200 lbs/in. 0.120 Light joggles both straight ahead and cornering. 3470 lbs/in. 0.160 No joggles straight ahead. Occasional light joggles on corners. Improvement for controllability. The last arrangement as shewn on Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 330/393 was reported on as being the best compromise so we have started a Standardisation sheet for this in conjunction with Wraith wheel movement.
