LES - Understand pipe got hammered and a shorter pipe can be standardised avoiding this trouble. Is this so Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer}

Governor Control to Dampers.

Referring to our memo E {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} /Lid. {A. J. Lidsey} 1/HP.8.4.36, in which we asked for a coiled copper pipe to be used to bridge the gap between the frame and the damper governor control, on B-56-BN {W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} , in place of the standard length of armoured flexible tubing, we now understand that the test in France was successful and if this is confirmed perhaps you will issue a standardisation sheet so that it can be cleared for production. The saving to be achieved by the change is in the neighbourhood of 7/- per chassis. BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} is going slowly on the existing pieces, so that the new parts can be adopted very quickly after standardisation is completed.
