The Dunlop Rubber Co.Ltd.
Dunlop Detachable Wire Wheels with Wellbase Rims.

This morning we have received from the Dunlop Co., Chassis Makers' Division, a confidential letter dated 30th ult. submitting their new season's price lists which come into force today. Following is an extract from this letter:-

"The establishment of the Wired-on Balloon tyre
"has revealed the marked superiority of the Well base
"over the beaded edge type of rim. The latter is
"rapidly vanishing from the new Car and we now offer
"in certain sizes and at the same price wired-on high
"pressure tyre equivalents, which will be welcome
"substitutes. For example the 895 x 135 B.E. is
"replaced by the 6" W.O. tyre; the 820 x 120 B.E. by
"the 5¼" W.O., and the 765 x 105 B.E. by the 4¾" W.O.
"The respective rim sizes are 5" x 21", 4¾" x 21" and
"4" x 21". These rims provide the added advantage of
"carrying, if desired, the appropriate balloon tyres
"33 x 6.75, 33 x 6.00 and 31 x 5.25 respectively."

With the letter we received a schedule giving certain particulars of the new high pressure wired-on tyres and as I am sure that the information which the schedule affords will be of interest to you, I attach a copy. I gather from the schedule that the size of new high pressure tyre recommended for our 40/50 HP. chassis is 6" x 33½" and for our 20-HP. chassis 5¼" x 32".
