20 HP. CHASSIS - CENTRALISED LUBRICATION.
---------------------------------------

With reference to the lubricators fitted on the front and rear axles, these are exactly similar to those used by the Experimental Department on all their standardisation tests, and although it is now found that these are not satisfactory we have not got any modified proposals which have been tested out, therefore until this has been done it will be necessary for the chassis to be passed off test with the lubricators originally instructed.

In regard to the mechanic's joints on the experimental cars, these were fitted with plugs to enable the joints to be filled with lubricant, but the Experimental Dept. recommend that we fit Enots lubricators of the non-return valve type. Although we understand that the non-return valve type of lubricator which we have used hitherto is not satisfactory on these chassis, we have no modified and approved fittings which we can instruct, therefore for the time being we shall have to carry on and fit the original type of lubricator F.10089.

So far as the oil pumps are concerned, here again we have no approved scheme for avoiding oil leakage, therefore these will have to remain as they are until some modification which can be applied has been tested and proved satisfactory.
