SECRET.

Spectre(Codename for Phantom III) - Marles Type Steering.

The slight weep of oil from the top longitudinal joint on the R.R. Marles box which appeared on Spectre(Codename for Phantom III) has now appeared on the Spectre(Codename for Phantom III) Steering fitted to the 20/25. On Spectre(Codename for Phantom III) it was shown that if the fit of the worm roller bearings was attended to, the weep was cured. But there does not seem any objection to an extra bolt in the middle of the length of this joint, which would make the job easier. The boss can easily be added to the dies even if they are already finished, and we suggest that this should be done and send N.Sch.4563 herewith showing the additional bolt.
