In our programme of experiments on the above steering, the first feature we wish to test is the Timken tapered roller bearings on the cam. N.Sch.4554, which has just been issued, shows these bearings but specifies a cam of 0.700 lead instead of the present 0.800. We wish to make it clear that before we try the 0.700 lead cam we want to try the Timken bearings on the 0.800 lead cam. Will you please therefore first detail the bearings applied to the present cam. A further point is that when we try the reduced helix to N.Sch.4549, we shall certainly wish to try the 8.000 pendulum lever instead of the present 7.000 lever.
