Woolwich, S.E.18.

Dear Sir,

We thank you for your letter of the 15th inst., referring to the subject of light alloys for bearings, and have pleasure in enclosing herewith particulars of the R.R. AC.9 bearing material to which we assume you refer in your letter.

We would add that in addition to the information contained on this sheet, the heat treatment consists of 12 hours at 180° in the rough "as cast" condition, followed by a further 8 hours heat treatment, at the same temperature, prior to the final finish machining.

After you have had the opportunity of perusing this information, we shall be pleased to hear from you as to whether there is anything further we can do to help you in this matter.

Yours faithfully,
For WELLWORTHY PISTON RINGS LTD.,

Technical Manager.
