Dear Sirs,

We are having despatched to you, Weston D.C. volt-ammeter, Model 163, No.92, together with its two external shunts.

We are sorry to say that we have found this instrument to be not so generally satisfactory, and it does not seem to be as carefully made, as a previous box instrument which we have had from you, also Model 163, No.42, but with internal shunts. In particular, the moving portion of the instrument is giving trouble.

We shall be glad if you will re-adjust this instrument, and return it to us as soon as possible, in so accurate adjustment that we can make use of this in the first instance to check our other instruments, for which work we are willing to pay within reason.

Yours faithfully,
