Martindale} Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /AFM {Anthony F. Martindale} 2/R.2.11.38. B.III SUSPENSION. The rear shock damper link rubber connections (Delco type) fail easily. Will you please produce drawings of a replacement rubber connection 50% larger (linear increase) and instruct two sets of metal parts and 6 sets of rubbers. The backing washers should be stronger. Will you please see if you can design a pressed steel upper triangle for the front suspension. This is a lightening scheme. The present four levers weigh 1 lb. 12 ozs. each, and the distance pieces weigh 8 ozs. each. It is necessary for the new design to be lighter than this by about 40%. One pair of triangles for the bump chassis should be instructed. Will you also mark up a drawing of a torque arm with a series of holes behind the main steering tube hole, and instruct one pair to be drilled like this and tested on the bump chassis. An estimate of the weight saved should be made. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /AFM. {Anthony F. Martindale} | ||
