customers will not mind provided they get a good carburetter.

Mr Skinner would be satisfied with this. He does not want to make the carburetter for us, the quantities would be altogether too small, but we want him to make the jet needles. He has also Lord Nuffield to satisfy in this matter.

We, on our part, want to retain the cooperation of Mr Skinner on carburetter problems, and we have already discussed our proposals with him for a double down draught S.U. to suit the Wraith and also for future development on the Spectre(Codename for Phantom III).

Mr Skinner had already considered such a carburetter when he was invited to put up an instrument for the Straight 8 Daimler but found he would be unable to get down to the required price. I attach herewith a blueprint of E.60092 showing the general arrangement of the 20/25 carburetter on which you will see the proposed plate shewn rivetted to the floatchamber lid. {A. J. Lidsey}

There is another plate fixed to the air intake inscribed with letters of similar size warning customers not to interfere with the carburetter adjustments.

A further blueprint is attached, E.60251 showing the proposed additional plate, twice full scale.

Would you kindly say if you are prepared to agree to the above proposal so that we may inform Mr Skinner accordingly.

ATT: E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
