Re Strengthened Rocker Arm in Steering Box.

With reference to the attached papers, which please return with your reply, please ascertain what is the present position of this matter.

I believe Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} wrote R. {Sir Henry Royce} explaining how it was that there were such a large number of rocker arms in stock. Please let me have a copy of that memorandum.

I do not think this strengthened rocker arm has been standardised yet: possibly now R. {Sir Henry Royce} knows the reason we have such a large number of parts in stock he may consider it is not necessary to lose £373.

I believe E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} is at Derby and he would probably know what R's views on this subject are and whether R. {Sir Henry Royce} considers it is a risk to life if the strengthened rocker arms are not fitted, although, apparently, there have only been three failures.
