Joints. We have had very little oil leak from the spherical joint covers.

Electrical fittings.

Elliott Ammeter - this had given no trouble and has worked quite satisfactory. Ignition coil - with finer primary G.P.I. - we have found no defects with this. Distributor box - 'C' type cutout, contacts with rigid backing and rigid fixed support - the contacts were in good condition and have functioned O.K. 40/50 type Klaxon switch and wire - this has operated satisfactory. Rear tail lamp - the rear tail lamp was broken due to stones hitting it. We fitted a new lamp, this also has had the glass broken through the same cause. We have not been able to keep bulbs in good condition more than 500 miles, the filaments will not stand the rough shaking of the roads. We reported that the wires under the wings for the N.S. and O.S. lamp broke. We do not consider the lead covered wire suitable and more robust clips should be fitted. Remaining electrical fittings have remained O.K.

Radiator suspension.

We fitted the new bracket E.52880 sent out. This has run 1500 miles and is still O.K. The stay to frame had again worn and allowed the battery to swing again. We have made a much stronger stay and brackets which has remained so far O.K.

Exhaust silencer and brackets.

New rear silencer to N.S. 3030 and L.O.P. E.53738 with additional strap at rear end. The lagging of the rear silencer is now in a deplorable condition. The brackets have remained tight.

Exhaust swan neck and snout.

These are still in good condition. There is an exhaust boom on retard.

Exhaust cutout.

This stuck in a closed position on one occasion due to the distortion of the valve spindle. The controls are not satisfactory. Considerable wear has taken place in the jaws which causes the controls to rattle.

Petrol tank and fittings.

These have given no trouble and are still in good condition.

Rear spare wheel carrier.

This is still in good condition, we have had no trouble with the wheel working loose.
