| contd :- -2- It will be observed that in the case of the new camshafts there is an actual overlap of 29° compared with 3° on the old camshafts. This represents an increase of 26° - 4° of which are due to the reduced angle between the cams, and the remainder must be accounted for by the altered cam form. The effect of this on economy is shewn by the increased fuel consumption with the new camshafts. Slightly more vibration is apparent on the camshaft casings with the new camshafts which may be attributed to the reduced angle between the cams. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /V.Halliwell. We propose confirming the consumption and power curves on another engine. Camshafts of this type are also being tried on the valve test rig. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
