| X4273 Sg. {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. to Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} / NOV 27 1922 RECEIVED EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} /Thnl/H25/25.11.22. X4273 X4075 re. GOSHAWK(Aero Engine)(Codename for 20HP Car / Aero Engine after Kestrel(Aero Engine)) CHASSIS FOR ABROAD. With reference to your memo Sg {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 10/BM/24.11.22, (copy attached for Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ), the present standard for Goshawk(Aero Engine)(Codename for 20HP Car / Aero Engine after Kestrel(Aero Engine)) ignition is the 40/50 type stabalite coil with 25" ballast, and this is the only type of ignition which we are able to fit at the moment on production cars. The Experimental Department have a number of schemes in hand for ignition for the Goshawk(Aero Engine)(Codename for 20HP Car / Aero Engine after Kestrel(Aero Engine)) chassis, and we shall be glad if Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} will write to Mr. Sidgreaves telling him exactly what is the position in regard to same, so that a decision can be arrived at, as to whether the Goshawk(Aero Engine)(Codename for 20HP Car / Aero Engine after Kestrel(Aero Engine)) chassis for abroad are to be held up, or whether they are to be despatched with the present ignition as above.
