WRAITH III. CHASSIS.
REAR ENGINE MOUNTING.

Please receive herewith blueprints of G.CD.714 showing the increased thickness of torque rubbers on the rear engine mounting. This requires the rubber carrying brackets to be spread, and involves modification to the inner bracket to clear the servo levers.

The scheme of the rubbers themselves has previously been issued under G.CD.706. The channel pressing which is attached directly to the gearbox foot has been shortened and the drilling modified. The alteration to the inner torque brackets consists in the position of the two bolt bosses and drilling for same. The outer torque bracket is unaltered except for drilling. The main crossmember is entirely unaltered.

The thicker rubbers are an experiment for reducing engine roughness, and as we understand there is a prospect of rubbers of the original thickness but moulded to flat plates instead of cups, being successful, the rubbers on G.CD.714 should be dealt with experimentally only for the time being.
