re. 102-HC. Major G.F.Boyle.

With reference to your Hr9/GM16.3.26. It is rather difficult for the Works to appreciate the latter part of the last paragraph of this memo, as there is only one case of stiff steering mentioned on your list of official Phantom Complaints, Hr8/PD/2.3.26 which list is regarded by the Works as the official list of complaints.

Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} appears to have replied fully to your memo in His Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 3/LG.17.3.26.

There is no doubt that this feature has been appreciated and has had, and is still having the serious attention of the Works and Experimental Dept.

We feel that improvements have been made in the manufacture of the steering in several points, and as far as possible we are keeping our Depots, Agents, etc. informed on this matter.

We are already in touch with CWB. on the matter in regard to new cars, and have asked that the next case on which this feature arises, shall be sent immediately to the Works for investigation.
