Bellringer - Repair Manager} /G26/M. 15.7.38. re, Technical - 25/30. Zenith Carburetter. As you probably know, we are getting quite a number of Customer's Cars through our hands for attention to be given to the above. Rather than spend any time on the Carburetters ourselves, we have been sending them direct to the maker's for attention. Zenith's are making no charge for a general examination, but they have quoted two figures for the work required for remedying popping back and for poor acceleration. The first is for 2/6d and the other 6/3d. In the event of the modification of the counter bored choke spindle Bearings being necessary this will involve an extra 2/-. It may be that Hd {Mr Hayward / Mr Huddy} has had to refer similar Carburetters to Messrs. Zenith for the same work, and it seems that we are likely to be dealing with the maker's for some time yet. We shall be glad to hear that these charges are acceptable. Generally speaking we feel that the only way out is to let the makers deal with the faulty Carburetters themselves, as up to the present it has been the means of curing Customer's complaints. Br {T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} /G. | ||
