Bentley III Independent Front Suspension,
Buffers and Jack Pad.

We send herewith N.Sch.4993 showing a scheme for the bump and rebound buffers and for the jack pad on the Bentley III front suspension.

The bracket for the bump and rebound rubbers is a light and simple drop forging. The rubbers are vulcanised on to a thin metal plate which is attached to a thick plate on the upper and lower triangles.

In order to incorporate a jack pad with the thick plate belonging to the lower triangle it has been necessary to modify the bolt bosses on these lower triangles. At the same time we have added a boss for the pallet of the lower end of the connecting link for a front roll rod.

The jack pad is shown as a mild steel drop forging and should be made as such for the first car. Subsequently we may wish to try the same design slightly thickened in places and made of duralumin.
