My dear Hives,

I see that Irving had a letter from Rowledge saying that you did not think it was worth while getting out a design for your 20 H.P. Car.

It seems a pity and is rather a change from your original attitude. As you definitely asked us to get out a design do you not think this might be left in this way, in other words, that we should carry on?

By the time this design is ready you may feel disposed, as I sincerely hope you will, to put one set in hand to carry out the lengthy tests you will naturally require with this as with other things that are being considered by you.

If you have finished with it perhaps you will be good enough to let me have back the little model clutch.

Please do see if we cannot get a move on this job.

Hoping to see you soon and with all good wishes for Christmas and New Year,

I am,
Yours sincerely,

W. Sempill
