Pratts Vakony (Light .680) | Mex Spirit | Stanton Substitute | Hall Substitute
S. Gravity: 0.678 | 0.715 | 0.794 | 0.489
Evaporation test 4 hours in air at 18°C %age loss: 40.0% | 24.3% | 19.0% | 4.1%
10 mins at 30°C (%age loss): 8.0% | 4.0% | 3.0% | 2.4%
10 " " 40°C: 10.0 | 7.2 | 6.6 | 3.0
10 " " 50°C: 15.7 | 7.6 | 6.7 | 4.7
10 " " 60°C: 26.0 | 7.8 | 6.9 | 5.5
10 " " 70°C: traces | 24.7 | 19.9 | 8.7
Residue: nil | 24.4% | 37.9% | 41.6%

From above it appears that the substitute are not so volatile as petrol. they appear to be mixture containing paraffin, gassoline, some benzol & also wood spirit. HCSdn
