ORIGINAL Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rn {Mr Robinson} 6/LG23. 2. 28. PHANTOM & 20 HP. - HYDRAULIC DAMPERS. X235 With reference to R2/M19.2.28. Ever since the introduction of these dampers we have been progressively increasing the low pressure loadings; the high pressure loads were originally as heavy as we found compatible with the low speed comfort demanded by most R-R owners. STANDARD LOADINGS. 40/50 HP. Front. Up. 65 - 70 Down. 80 Rear. 65 80 20 HP. Front. Up 45 Down. 55 Rear. 45 55 - 60 EXPERIMENTAL LOADINGS. 14-EX car at Le Canadel(Henry Royce's French residence). Front. Up. 70 Down. 80 Rear. 60 + 70 + + Both passages fitted with arrangements to give increased pressure velocity factors. 10-G3 at West Wittering(Henry Royce's home town). Front. Up. Std. Down. Std. Rear. 60 70 The only move we are contemplating in the immediate future is to make the 20 HP. rear loading 60 lbs. up and down as on 10-G3 which you have tried, but we are most anxious not to spoil the excellent reputation which the 20 HP. has at present for low speed riding, and people do not use this car so generally for Continental work as the 40/50. contd :- | ||
