Re. 31. EX. ACCIDENT.
29th Nov. J.B. English was also examined. The questions put to me were as follows :-

A) Yes, it was handed over by you to the firm to be run in France as you contemplated a continental tour and wished to know whether the engine would be satisfactory.
2) Is Mr. Hives English or French ?
A) English
3) When did J.B.English come out to France ?
A) On the 12th October last
4) Is it usual to run a Customer's Car for so long a period before handing it over ?
A) Not always, it was a question of the client.
5) Did we run cars mileage in England, before handing them over ?
A) Yes
6) What was the mileage run ?
A) About 1.000 (This in view that less would have been ridicoulous (in comparison to the mileage run here.)

8) Was English a capable mechanic, steady, sober, etc.?
A) Yes.
9) Was the car, chassis, brakes, etc., in good condition ?
A) Yes perfect. I went up to Paris on the car the previous Saturday 16th.
10) Was I in charge here ?
A) Yes.
11) Are the drivers given a definate route ?
A) No, they are at liberty to go where they please so long as they complete the day's work.
12) Did I know the day of the accident that they were going to Tours?
A) No.
13) Were you in Paris on the day of the accident ?
