Re Over-Size Tyres.

Mr Plumpton.

13-7-14.

I return herewith correspondence relating to tyres. I hope to be able to deal with this matter further at some future time, but at the present moment I should like to point out with reference to the letter from Mr Woodward - chassis 1878 - that if he is getting poor results from 6" Palmers he certainly would not get better results from over-size tyres, and in this case it would therefore seem that we shall be compelled to recommend twin wheels.

I am inclined to think that twin wheels are the only solution for very heavy cars, but I think it would be well to see whether we can get permission to recommend over-size tyres, for medium heavy cars where a customer complains that standard tyres are not giving a good mileage. The ordinary over-size tyres are no larger, and perhaps hardly as strong as 6" Palmer Tyres.
