Sidgreaves - MD} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.12/ADS.8.32. IMPROVED DIALS FOR SMITHS INSTRUMENTS ON 20/25 CHASSIS. Owing to Sales adverse criticism of the dials on our 20/25 instruments, we have been in touch with Messrs. Smiths in collaboration with Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}, with a view to getting an improvement in the appearance of the Smith instruments. Messrs. Smiths have now produced a new set of dials with the following modifications:- (1) All the figures of the same style. (2) Those on the speedometer and clock of the same size. (3) The remaining instruments having figures of the same size. (4) Each dial has the R.R. monogram on. (5) All the letters and markings to be in silver and not white paint. (6) The clock has the makers name on, in addition to the R.R. monogram, to relieve the appearance of the dial. These dials have been submitted by Messrs. Smiths to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}, who have approved them. We are anxious that these modified dials should appear on production as soon as possible as Sales are even contemplating changing over dials on existing chassis and they consider the matter very urgent. Will you kindly issue instructions to the Order Office for this change over. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
