SALES DIRECTOR'S OFFICE.

9th June 1939.

Messrs. Rolls Royce Limited,
DERBY.

Attention of Mr. I.A. Leslie.

Dear Sirs,

Heaters; Further to our conversation yesterday regarding the question of design on the lines of our talk with our Specialist, Mr. Grose. Anxious as we are to take care of your requirements I am afraid that we are unable to undertake the manufacture of another special type owing to the pressure of work in this department.

The fact is we are so inundated at the moment with our present commitments that unless you are able to consider our own design we just have not the staff or facilities to tackle the proposition. I feel that I ought to be quite frank in this connection.

In our letter of the 24th May we quoted 27/6d for the Smith Unit without Electric Motor or Coupling which weighs 8 1/2 lbs, dimensions approximately 8" square; would you very kindly let me know how this compares with your own assembly.
