COPY. Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} 7/NJ5525. 5th May, 1925. Messrs. The Chloride Electrical Storage Co.Ltd., Clifton Junction, Nr. Manchester. Dear Sirs, 40/50 HP. Chassis. Lighting & Starting Battery 6-RR-5-1. Our Specn. 301. Recently the question has arisen as to whether the cell-to-cell connections which we standardised for the above-mentioned battery and which are secured by nuts to the cell terminals are preferable to the burnt-up type of cell-to-cell connection which we standardised for the 20 HP. Lighting & Starting Battery 6-XL.3-4, our Specification 302. We should like to have your views in regard to this, i.e., whether you consider that the burnt-up type connection is preferable to the bolted-up type of connection from cell to cell, or vice versa, and your reasons for preferring the one you select. We thank you in anticipation of your reply. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED (Sgd) J.P.Whitehead. RECEIVED | ||
