1245 Bentley Motors (1931) Ltd. Derby To Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Re: Bentley Trials Car As arranged, we have asked the Dunlop people in France to supply us 6.00 x 17 tyres for the special wheels which we have been using on above car. However, Dunlops, after examining the wheels in question, report that the tyres to be fitted on same should be of the 7.00 x 17 size, the size fitted by the India Company being, in their opinion, unsafe. Of course, if we fit 7.00 x 17 tyres, the wing clearance will not be sufficient and, as, on the other hand, we can hardly believe that the India Company fitted tyres which were not of the correct size, we should be pleased to have your remarks before doing anything further in the matter. For your information, Dunlops can deliver us tyres of the same size as the India tyres but, on condition that we fit these under our own responsibility.
