INDIA 3. & TWENTY.

We send herewith N.Sch.2723. shewing comparisons between various
40/50 & 20.HP. bonnets and dashes, and also a modified bonnet for
India 3. and the "Twenty" N.Sch.2724.

Mr.Royce has criticised the Geoffrey Smith Type of raised bonnet
as is standardised for the Twenty, and is fitted to 12.G.4. on the
following points:-

(1) The slope of the top hinge is too great.
(2) The slope of the side hinge is not enough.
(3) The shape of the top of the dash,pigeon-chested.in
appearance as it is, needs a larger top radious.

On N.Sch. 2724. we shew a revised bonnet which Mr.Royce would
like to replace the one already standardised as soon as possible.

We are communicating with Hoopers, with a view to getting the
scuttle of the second India 3. altered, and we will inform Derby in
the course of a few days whether they can fit this new bonnet to
that car, 14.G.4.

We suggest also that Sales might wish to fit up a car with
this bonnet, and arrange for one of their bodies which might be
available to be altered to suit, at the same time finding out from
Derby how far they are commited for material.

The third India 3. chassis should be fitted with this bonnet.
